Skills Used

Every year, graduating UX students participate in a sequence of courses that allow them to create a digital experience for a real client: this year, the Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, which needed their Sustainability Center, an exhibit that used large screens to deliver content related to sustainability across many domains of life, redesigned to better engage the visitors.  My team and I worked with content related to Waste: after developing personas of museum visitors and creating a current vs. ideal user journey, our team decided to create an interactive experience that placed the user in a digital landfill and use their emotions to help them learn about how to make better choices related to waste.  As UX designer on the team, I worked with one other to sketch, wireframe, and prototype the designs, each stage going through user testing before moving to the next.  Finally, the team’s developer brought the designs to life, which were then placed in the museum.

Test out the prototype here.
